Spring Cleaning Your Room 2019|| SincerelySpring

It’s springtime! Which makes me so happy because that means its time for spring cleaning. I’m going to share with you, how I have been spring cleaning different parts of my life throughout the next few weeks, this week will be focused on deep cleaning your room. This series will be called SincerelySpring and I will be using the hashtag on instagram.

Before we get started to make sure you have everything you need before cleaning, here is what I use when cleaning. Also, I recommend keeping all cleaning products in a bucket, so it makes it easier to clean.

  • Microfiber cleaning cloths
  • Multi-purpose spray (I use Mrs. Meyer’s multi-purpose cleaner in whatever seasonal scent they have, currently I am using the basil one)
  • Any type of dusting tool
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
  • Vacuum
  • garbage bags
  • ThredUp clean out kit

Now once you have all your supplies, turn on your favorite playlist and let’s start cleaning.

Start with the bed and floor. Wash all your sheets and bedding (if you have a second set of sheets and bedding to put on you can do that now and make your bed, if you don’t wait till the end). Now go to the floor and short through everything on your floor. Put trash in a trash bag, put clean clothes away, put dirty clothes in the laundry, and put any random stuff on your floor where it belongs.

Grab 3 bags or baskets:

  • one for trash
  • one for things that don’t belong in your room
  • one for things you can maybe sell/give to someone else/donation

Now go through your whole room and separate everything (even your clothes) into these bags or basket. Once, you have done this you can go throw out the trash. Take the bag or basket of items that don’t belong in your room and put there where they should go. Go through your give away/sell/donation bag or basket and figure out what things you want to sell, what you can donate, and what you will give away. You can go about selling clothes and accessories using apps like Poshmark, Depop, or ThredUp. I usually use Poshmark, but for spring cleaning I used a ThredUp clean out kit. It was more convenient, I could get everything out of my room right away, and it was free. Now you can re-organize any part of your room that needs it.

Wipe down any surfaces, baseboards, door handles, outlets, light switches, walls, and windows. Dust anything that needs it and vacuum or sweep and mop your floors.

Wash any dirty laundry and put away when done. Put your freshly washed sheets on your bed, and you are now down!

If you spring clean your room take a picture and tag me and use the hashtag sincerelyspring so I can see it.
