I usually don’t post on Mondays, but I wanted to do a post in honor of Earth Day that is different from posting pictures of plants. I have had a thing for helping the earth since I was young, in elementary school my friend and I started a recycling club. We would take all the recycle bins in the school and sort through them. To make sure we were only recycling what could actually be recycled.
In 2017, I was watching a TED Talks video by Lauren Singer talking about her zero-waste lifestyle it piqued my interest. I wanted to try it out, but I soon forgot about it. A year ago, I watched the video again, and I have been slowly doing the what I can to make decisions that are low waste or zero waste.
I have currently been focusing my efforts to make my bathroom have a low waste impact. I have switched out a lot of my everyday products into zero waste or low waste products.
I switched bottled shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to bars. The white bar is shampoo, the brown bar is a conditioner, and the yellow bar is my body wash.
I switched out tube toothpaste for making own which I will link the recipe. I keep my toothpaste in a candle jar that I cleaned out. My toothbrush is made from bamboo and is compostable.
For shaving, I was wanting to research more on safety razors before purchasing one. I picked a razor that is vegan, and the company will recycle the razor handle for you. For face and hand soap, I use one bar instead of two different bottles.
I have switch out tampons for a menstrual cup, and it is so worth it! I don’t have the brand for this one so I can’t link it, but there are so many you can find online!
Where to find me?
Happy Earth Day!
